Job summary

The Senior Scientist/Engineer at Shurtape Technologies, LLC will partner with New Product Development teams to study the structure and properties of pressure sensitive adhesives and how manufacturing affects product performance.

You will support marketing and manufacturing with complaint resolutions, VOC activities and cost-reduction initiatives, and help develop new PSA tape products through data-driven design and DOE-driven experimentation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science/Engineering, or Materials Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
10 - 15 years’ experience in applied polymer science and adhesives.
Strong background in polymer characterization (GPC, DSC, TGA, FTIR, SEM, DMA).
Experience with PSA adhesives, coatings, and UV/E-beam curing.
Independent work and strong teamwork, with excellent communication.

Responsibilities

Lead NPD work to study structure and properties of pressure sensitive adhesives and related processes.
Support core business needs such as complaint resolutions, VOC activities and cost-reduction initiatives.
Design formulations and coating methods for PSA tapes and related products.
Manage projects with goals, execution plans, specifications, and DOE analyses.
Monitor external tech developments and contribute to intellectual property strategy.
