Job summary

Shurtape Technologies, LLC is seeking a Senior Scientist/Engineer to lead NPD initiatives on pressure sensitive adhesives. You will study structure and properties of adhesives and how manufacturing affects performance, partnering with Marketing and Manufacturing to support complaint resolutions and cost-reduction efforts.

The role requires a strong polymer science background, hands-on formulation experience, and the ability to drive projects from concept to scale-up in a collaborative team

Qualifications

• Background in polymer science including physical, chemical, material and rheological characterization of polymers.
• Ability to interpret GPC, DSC, TGA, FTIR, SEM, and DMA data.
• Experience with PSA adhesives and polymeric coatings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high standard of safety in all job duties.
• Design PSA adhesives, back size/release and barrier formulations and coating methods.
• Research structure, properties and performance of adhesives; interact with additives and substrates to improve product design.
• Manage NPD projects, establish goals and execution plans, and document results in technical reports.
• Support research with literature review and IP considerations.
• Monitor external technology developments and translate into new products.
