Job summary

Meet Life Sciences is seeking a Senior Scientist in Biologics Analytical Development to drive method development and characterization for recombinant protein products. You will design, execute, and interpret analytical studies, coordinating with CROs/CMOs and supporting technology transfers.

The role requires a PhD, 5+ years in biotech/pharma, and hands‑on expertise with LC‑MS, HPLC/UHPLC, and other biophysical techniques, with strong communication and regulatory experience.

Qualifications

• PhD in a scientific or engineering discipline required.
• 5+ years of experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical environments.
• Strong experience with biologics analytical development and characterization.
• Hands-on experience with chromatographic and mass spectrometry techniques.
• Experience in GMP and regulatory submissions/CMC documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and qualify analytical methods for biologic products.
• Perform protein and protein-conjugate characterization.
• Conduct extended characterization using LC-MS peptide mapping, HPLC/UHPLC, SEC, IEX, CE-SDS, iCIEF, GC/GC-MS.
• Support upstream and downstream process development.
• Characterize and quantify product- and process-related impurities.
• Independently design, execute, and analyze laboratory experiments.
• Oversee analytical activities with CROs/CMOs and support technology transfers.
• Review analytical data supporting GMP manufacturing.
• Author/review technical reports, protocols, SOPs, and scientific documentation.
• Contribute to CMC and regulatory submissions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Lead projects, mentor team members, and provide technical training.

Senior Scientist – Biologics Analytical Development

I’m currently looking for a Senior Scientist, Biologics Analytical Development to join a team focused on advancing innovative biologic therapies and supporting recombinant protein development.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced scientist with strong expertise in analytical method development, protein characterization, and biologics process development.

What You’ll Be Doing:

What We’re Looking For

• PhD in a scientific or engineering discipline required; exceptional candidates without a PhD may be considered with significant relevant experience
• 5+ years of experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical environments
• Strong experience with biologics analytical development and characterization
• Hands‑on experience with chromatographic and mass spectrometry techniques
• Strong scientific problem-solving and independent thinking
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment
• Experience in an FDA‑regulated environment
• Knowledge of GMP and laboratory practices
• Experience contributing to regulatory submissions/CMC documentation
• Previous project leadership, mentoring, or management experience
