Job summary

Viderity Inc. is seeking a Senior Technical Writer-Editor to craft, edit, and manage complex technical content for the NSF’s OLPA.

You will translate scientific information into clear, accessible language, mentor junior writers, and ensure compliance with federal plain language and accessibility standards. The role involves collaborating with OLPA staff, program officials, and scientists to produce articles, white papers, fact sheets, and web content while meeting quality and policy

Qualifications

5+ years of professional writing and editing experience, including 3+ years on scientific/technological topics.
Experience writing for federal agencies, scientific funders, or research-focused orgs (preferred).
Experience creating short- and long-format content including press releases, fact sheets, blogs, reports and webpages.
Research and fact-checking via sources and expert interviews.

Responsibilities

Write and edit articles, white papers, fact sheets, blogs, press releases, web pages, and other publications on science topics of stakeholder interest.
Translate complex concepts into plain language for non-experts.
Draft and edit web content summarizing policies and guidance for proposers and awardees.
Conduct research and fact-checking with OLPA staff, program officials, and scientists.
Ensure compliance with the Plain Writing Act and Section 508 accessibility standards.
Mentor junior writers and help define documentation standards and strategies.
