Job summary

The US Office of the Secretary of Defense's Defense Innovation Unit seeks a Special Security Officer (SSO)/GSSO to manage the SCI program, information security, physical security, and access control for DIU. You will ensure compliant operations and apply security controls across programs and personnel.

The role includes security education, training and awareness (SETA) and OPSEC duties, with qualification guidance at NH-IV (GS-14/15) level for federal service applicants.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to NH-III (GS-13) in the Federal service handling SCI/SAP security policy and standards.
• Overseeing security programs for physical, information, personnel security or SAP access.
• Executing security programs in alignment with mission and budget constraints.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the SSO/GSSO for the Defense Innovation Unit's SCI program.
• Manage information, physical security and access control across DIU operations.
• Provide security education, training and awareness (SETA) and OPSEC support.
