Job summary

Chandler USD 80 is seeking a Senior General Maintenance Technician to oversee the maintenance of all school facilities, grounds, and equipment in Chandler, AZ. This full-time role focuses on safety, preventative maintenance, and timely repairs to ensure a high standard of operation for students and staff.

The position offers competitive pay at $24.17 per hour with full benefits, a 2612H calendar, and opportunities for performance pay annually.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with journeyman experience in either the HVAC, plumbing, or electrical field
• Expert knowledge in the use of hand power tools and equipment
• Working knowledge of building and safety codes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and diagrams
• Valid AZ driver’s license and satisfactory criminal background check
• Vision and hearing are adequate to safely fulfill job responsibilities
• Knowledge of and adherence to all policies, rules, and regulations

Responsibilities

• Lead in a specialized craftsman field with journeyman-level knowledge in the repair, alteration, maintenance, construction, and installation of site buildings and grounds
• Plan, direct, monitor, and train other department employees
• Maintain records of time, materials, and parts required to complete work orders
• Perform heavy labor and maintenance work
• Operate truck, hand-powered tools, and equipment assignments
• Oversee the work of other maintenance personnel as assigned by the supervisor
• Immediately report safety and security hazards and needs for major repairs
• Perform other duties relating to the general job function as assigned by the supervisor
