Job summary

Simpson & Simpson Management Consulting in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Scheduler with 10+ years of experience in large construction programs. You will coordinate schedules, review contractor plans, and perform time impact analyses to support budget and claims.

Travel to multiple job sites may be required. A BS degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field is required, with advanced proficiency in Primavera and MS Office.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in project or program scheduling on large construction programs.
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera Scheduling Software and MS Office applications (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of cost engineering and scheduling theories and practices.
• Experience with time impact analysis and construction claims/change orders.
• Flexibility to travel to multiple sites as schedules require.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the preparation of project schedules based on defined project execution philosophies.
• Perform contractor schedule reviews for contract conformance and quality assurance.
• Evaluate contract change orders and amendments for impact on budget and schedule.
• Perform time impact analysis of project schedule delays and potential claims.
• Participate in change order negotiations.
• Perform Critical Path and Earned Value analyses.
• Identify schedule related problems and recommend corrective actions and creative solutions.
• Conduct construction/project site visits for progress reporting.
• Review contractor’s weekly/monthly schedule progress and present findings to management.
• Review and evaluate contractor recovery schedules.
• Prepare cost loaded schedule to support cash flow projections.
• Understand and apply contracts, policies and procedures within management guidelines.
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Flexibility in schedule and travel to multiple sites.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Position Description:

• Coordinate the preparation of project schedules based on defined project execution philosophies
• Perform contractor schedule reviews for contract conformance and quality assurance
• Evaluate contract change orders and amendments for impact on budget and schedule

• Perform cost analysis in support of design and construction phases of capital projects.

• Understand, interpret and apply contracts, policies and procedures within the management guidelines.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• 10 years of experience in project or program scheduling on large construction programs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or other related field. Additional qualifying experience in excess to the minimum stated above may be substituted for the required education.
• Advanced proficiency in specified software including, but not limited to, Primavera Scheduling Software, MS Office Applications including Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of theories, principles and practices of cost engineering and scheduling.
• Experience with time impact analysis.
• Experience with construction claims and change orders.
• Flexibility in schedule and transportation to work at multiple sites based on assigned schedule and duties.
