Job summary

SummitHR is seeking an experienced Construction Scheduler to develop and maintain complex project schedules for high-value construction efforts. You will review contractor submissions, verify sequencing, and perform QA/QC on schedule data.

The role requires 10+ years of full-time scheduling experience on large projects, with data center or science/tech/pharma background, and strong writing skills. Proficiency in Primavera and MS Office is essential. On-site in New Haven, CT.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering or construction management required.
  • Minimum 10 years of full-time professional construction scheduling experience for owners or GC.
  • Experience on large projects worth $300–400M+.
  • Experience in data center, science/tech or pharma sectors.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains program schedules with milestones and constraints for diverse construction projects.
  • Reviews contractor baseline schedules for proper scope and logical sequencing; writes detailed comments.
  • Performs QA/QC on schedule submittals, reviews critical path and resource loading.
  • Conducts schedule Time Impact Analysis for change orders and negotiates delays.
  • Reads drawings to determine scope alignment and assess compensable extensions.
  • Performs Critical Path and Earned Value analysis.
  • Site visits to monitor progress and reports to management; communicates schedule matters in meetings.
  • Performs regular Program Schedule QA/QC reviews and bi-monthly status updates.
  • Ensures data integrity with standard codes, layouts and reports.
  • Acts as liaison between project teams and Program Controls.

Job description

Duties:


  • Develops and maintains program schedules identifying relationships, logic, milestones,
    and constraints for construction projects of various types

  • Reviews Contractor's Baseline schedule submissions and verifies that all work scope is
    identified properly and logically sequenced correctly; provides written detailed
    schedule review comments

  • Performs QA/QC on contractor schedule submittals for conformance with the contract;
    reviews critical path, cost loading, resource loading of man-hours, schedule content,
    recovery schedules, use of logic relationships and lags, constraints and milestones

  • Performs schedule Time Impact Analysis for any change orders that aect the
    construction schedule; conducts schedule negotiations with the project manager and
    the contractor for any delay time settlements

  • Reads drawings to determine if work is in or out of scope, and understands terms and
    conditions of the contract to determine if any compensable or non-compensable time
    extensions have merit

  • Performs Critical Path analysis and Earned Value analysis

  • Walks the construction sites as needed and checks the contractor's weekly/monthly
    schedule progress; provides reports to the project and upper management. Effectively
    communicate with the Contractor regarding all schedule/progress related matters and
    concerns in the weekly status meetings and all other schedule related meetings

  • Performs Program Schedule QA/QC reviews on a regular basis

  • Performs status updates for Program Schedules/Master Schedules on a bi-monthly
    basis

  • Ensures proper use of Program-level standard codes, layouts and reports necessary to
    ensure data integrity

  • Serves as a liaison between project teams, department leadership and the Program & Project Controls department

  • Prepare reports as needed and directed by Management

  • Minimum Requirements
    Required Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years full time paid professional experience in Construction Scheduling for
    an Owner or General Contractor

  • Large project experience ($300-400M+ project values)

  • Data center or science and tech / pharma experience

  • Good writing and communication skills


Required Education: Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree preferably
in architecture, engineering or construction management.
