Job summary

ARES Corporation, in partnership with NASA's CPSS at Johnson Space Center, seeks a Senior Scheduler to develop, manage, and optimize complex project schedules in line with NASA standards.

You will lead a team of schedulers, integrate IMS, perform risk and what-if analyses, and deliver schedule status packages to stakeholders across programs. A strong background in MS Project, scheduling tools, and earned value concepts is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with probabilistic schedule risk analysis (SRA/JCL) and schedule health analysis.
• Experience using scheduling tools such as Milestones Professional and risk tools (Full Monte, Acumen Fuse).
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel/PowerPoint/Word, and with Microsoft Project.
• Experience with implementation and management of integrated scheduling tools.
• Basic understanding of EIA-748 earned value management principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed, logic-driven project schedules compliant with NASA standards.
• Create proposal, full lifecycle, and closeout schedules to support planning and execution.
• Integrate multiple schedules for cross-project resource analysis and decision-making.
• Perform weekly to monthly schedule health assessments and trend analyses.
• Participate in meetings, gather status, and present schedule progress to stakeholders.
• Deliver schedule status packages, including reports and critical path assessments.
• Conduct what-if analyses to evaluate workarounds and provide data-driven recommendations.
• Perform schedule risk assessments including uncertainty and sensitivity analyses.
• Integrate contractor and contributor schedules into Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
• Lead schedulers in assembling sub-tier schedules into a master schedule and reporting schedules.
• Provide expert scheduling guidance in response to evolving programmatic requirements.
• Support optimization of project schedules and resource allocations.

Join the NASA CPSS team at Johnson Space Center as a Senior Scheduler.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

The Senior Scheduler is responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing project schedules in alignment with the NASA Schedule Management Handbook. This role supports projects of varying size and complexity by ensuring schedule accuracy, integrity, and visibility across the program lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed, logic-driven project schedules that comply with NASA Schedule Management Handbook standards.
• Create proposal schedules, full project life cycle schedules, and closeout schedules to support program planning and execution.
• Integrate multiple project schedules to enable cross-project resource analysis and inform decision-making.
• Perform routine schedule health assessments, generate performance metrics, and conduct trend analysis on a weekly to monthly basis.
• Participate in project meetings and collaborate with technical points of contact to plan tasks and milestones, gather status updates, and present schedule progress.
• Prepare and deliver schedule status packages, including summary reports, milestone updates, and critical path assessments.
• Conduct what-if analyses to evaluate schedule workarounds and provide data-driven recommendations.
• Perform recurring schedule risk assessments, including uncertainty and sensitivity analyses.
• Integrate contractor and contributor schedules into comprehensive Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
• Lead a team of schedulers in integrating many sub-tier schedules, integrate those schedules in one master schedule, and create reporting schedules that integrate with peer NASA Programs.
• Provide expert scheduling guidance in response to rapidly evolving programmatic requirements.
• Support optimization of project schedules and resource allocations to improve overall program performance.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Experience performing probabilistic schedule risk analysis (SRA and JCL) and schedule health analysis.
• Experience using Milestones Professional and schedule risk tools (Full Monte, Acumen Fuse, etc.)
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. -Advanced experience using Microsoft Project. -Experience with implementation and management of integrated scheduling tools.
• Basic understanding of EIA-748 standard earned value management (EVM) principles

Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:

• 20+ years of experience -Prior NASA/Aerospace experience a plus
• Experience using software like JACS, Acumen Fuse, Milestones Professional, ASIT (Artemis Schedule Integration Tool) Onepager Professional, and Sharepoint.
• Working knowledge of NASA NPR 7120.5F and experience developing a NASA SRA and JCL in support of a Key Decision Point (KDP) for an Agency Baseline Commitment (ABC).
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or other related certifications
