Job summary

ARES Corporation seeks a Project Manager to lead complex engineering and software development initiatives in Houston. You will guide cross-functional teams, drive delivery excellence, and ensure stakeholder alignment across the full project life-cycle.

The role emphasizes Agile practices, strong communication, and experience with multidisciplinary teams, including NASA or DoD projects. BS/BA in IT or related field is preferred; Primavera and MS Project skills are valued.

Qualifications

• PMP/CSM or equivalent project management certification.
• Agile certification (CSM, PMI-ACP, SAFe) or strong demonstrated Agile experience.
• Experience with multidisciplinary engineering or software development teams.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Experience supporting NASA, DoD, or other federal programs.
• Proficiency with MS Project or similar scheduling tools.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to define scope, manage requirements, and develop well-structured user stories.
• Hands-on experience with Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum or Kanban).
• Exceptional communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional teams—design, developers, QA, Product Owners, and stakeholders.
• Develop, track, and maintain detailed project schedules using MS Project; Primavera preferred.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies, track delivery metrics, and ensure Scrum or hybrid methods.
• Collaborate with Product Owners to refine requirements and user stories.
• Create and update workflows, wire-frames, and process documentation as needed.
• Identify, track, and mitigate risks; escalate issues with mitigation plans.
• Manage project scope and change processes for controlled deliveries.
• Provide clear communications to teams, executives, and external stakeholders.
• Prepare status reports and dashboards in accordance with NASA standards.
• Support certification and compliance activities as required.

ARES is seeking a Project Manager to support complex technical, engineering, and software development initiatives. The successful candidate will lead cross‑functional project teams, drive delivery excellence, and ensure alignment with stakeholder expectations across the full project life-cycle. This role requires strong communication skills, proven experience guiding multidisciplinary teams, and a solid background in Agile methodologies and modern project management practices.
