Job summary

Wade Trim is seeking a Senior SCADA/I&C Professional Engineer to join our Water Team to enhance infrastructure across the firm. A licensed PE with a bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, or adjacent engineering and 15+ years of related experience is required.

Hybrid-remote work is available after 30 days of employment. The candidate will lead SCADA/I&C design across projects, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure compliance with ISA-101 and utility standards.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineering License required.
• NCEES eligible preferred.
• 15+ years of related Engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead SCADA and I&C work across the discipline.
• Support design, development, installation, and startup of SCADA/PLC-based automation and control systems for water and wastewater facilities.
• Extensive experience designing and supporting SCADA systems for water and wastewater facilities.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects with municipal water/wastewater clients.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and utility stakeholders.
• Support construction administration including RFIs, submittals, field changes, and startup.
• Explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Ensure designs comply with codes and standards (ISA-101, utility SCADA/HMI).
• Develop and maintain SCADA, PLC, and HMI standards for water/wastewater clients.
• Perform quality control and peer reviews for I&C and electrical design deliverables.
• Support development of new SCADA products, templates, and internal tools.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
• Provide design reviews for I&C and electrical portions of projects.
• Support construction services including submittal reviews and field inspections.
• Lead electrical and I&C design drawings and P&IDs.
• Develop electrical designs including power distribution for equipment.
• Experience in power distribution, lighting, panel schedules, arc flash studies, and backup generation for water/wastewater projects.
