Job summary

Vulcan Elements Inc. in Durham, NC, seeks a SCADA/HMI Platform Engineer to lead the selection and end-to-end ownership of the SCADA, historian, and visualization stack for a major 1 million square foot manufacturing expansion.

This high-impact role requires defining platform standards ahead of decisions and owning the supervisory architecture across a redundant server core and distributed plant network. You will author alarm philosophy, acceptance criteria, and escalation paths, while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical/automation/mechatronics plus 7+ years direct industrial automation and SCADA/HMI experience.
• ISA-18.2 alarm management and high-performance HMI design practice.
• Experience with platform evaluation, licensing models, redundancy architectures, and data access openness.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain communications between PLCs/HMI and higher-level systems (MES/SCADA).
• Hold screen/configuration acceptance authority for OEM/integrator deliverables, validated at FAT/SAT.
• Design and maintain OEE, downtime data, and SCADA interfaces to improve visibility and decision-making.
