Job summary

Onward Energy is seeking a Sr. SCADA Engineer to support OT equipment and data flow across gas, solar, and wind assets. You will leverage Ignition for backend/frontend tasks and collaborate with site managers, engineering, and operations to maintain system reliability.

The role requires 6–10 years of related experience, deep OT/SCADA knowledge, and the ability to lead projects with minimal oversight while ensuring compliance with IT and NERC CIP standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 6–10 years of experience preferred.
• Extensive experience with Ignition (Backend and Frontend).
• Expertise with OT equipment such as SCADA systems, RTUs, PI data historians.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Act as subject matter expert for OT SCADA equipment, ensuring systems are up to date.
• Mentor SCADA team members to strengthen bench.
• Troubleshoot and maintain connections between OT equipment and control systems.
• Provide field assistance on plants using Ignition, CIMPLICITY, WonderWare, ABB SYS600, SEL RTAC HMI.
• Coordinate with IT as primary contact for plant operations.
• Support NERC CIP compliance for assets.
• Develop long-term standardization strategy for OT equipment.
• Lead projects with minimal oversight.
