Job summary

Giga Energy Inc. is seeking a remote SCADA and BMS Engineer to own the Ignition-based platform across multiple data centers. You will design, deploy, and maintain operator screens, historian data, alarms, and dashboards to ensure site health and rapid deployment across sites.

You will work with OT teams on data integration, network security, and after-hours incident response, while traveling up to 20% to site locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and maintaining SCADA/HMI applications in Ignition including tag structures, alarm configuration, historian, and operator screens.
• 5+ years designing, programming, and maintaining SCADA or BMS systems in data centers, industrial facilities, utilities, or comparable mission-critical environments.
• Experience owning a SCADA system in production: alarm tuning, historian management, backups, and troubleshooting live issues.
• Strong working knowledge of Modbus TCP, plus familiarity with BACnet and at least one of SNMP, OPC UA, DNP3, or IEC-61850.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings, one-lines, points lists, and sequences of operation well enough to know what should be on a screen and what an alarm means.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and architecture of the SCADA and BMS platform across the portfolio: Ignition environment, server and gateway topology, tag structures, naming standards, and redundancy.
• Build and maintain what operations runs on: operator screens, historian, trending, alarm configuration and rationalization, dashboards, and reporting.
• Create reusable visualization and tag templates on the first site so future sites deploy instead of rebuilding.
• Integrate data from mechanical and electrical systems into SCADA: chillers, CRAHs, switchgear, generators, UPS, ATS, and metering (Modbus TCP).
• Collaborate with network and security teams on OT side: IT segmentation, remote access, reliable data flow to SCADA servers.
• Integrate SCADA data with DCIM and other monitoring platforms; maintain production systems via updates, backups, runbooks, and RCA.
• Support testing phases by validating points, alarms, and screens against actual installations.
• Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours incident response and escalation.
• Write and maintain standards and runbooks to enable repeat deployments at new sites.
