Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a Senior SCADA Engineer for remote work in the U.S. focusing on mission critical data centers and industrial automation projects. You will design, develop, and deploy Ignition-based SCADA solutions, with strong emphasis on Perspective and HMI/Reporting architectures.

Join a growth-oriented team, lead customer-facing projects, and travel roughly 50% to implement modern SCADA architectures and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent).
  • 7+ years of SCADA engineering experience in systems integrator or industrial automation.
  • Hands-on Ignition experience, especially Perspective.
  • Experience designing and deploying enterprise SCADA systems.
  • Knowledge of OPC UA, Modbus TCP/IP, DNP3, MQTT, BACnet, Ethernet/IP.
  • Experience integrating PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric).
  • Familiarity with SQL databases, historians, reporting tools, and network architecture.
  • Strong troubleshooting, customer-facing, and communication skills.
  • Travel approximately 50% willingness.

  • Develop SCADA architectures, HMIs, alarming strategies, historian implementations, and reporting.
  • Integrate PLCs, RTUs, power monitoring, and third-party devices into SCADA.
  • Support full project lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, programming, testing, startup.
  • Lead technical discussions with customers and provide engineering guidance.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation and test procedures.
  • Troubleshoot complex automation and SCADA issues remotely and onsite.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, project managers, and stakeholders.

About the Role

We are partnering with a growing systems integrator that is looking to add a Senior SCADA Engineer to its Mission Critical team. This role will focus on the design, development, and deployment of SCADA solutions for data centers and other high-availability critical infrastructure environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with customers, leading projects, and delivering modern SCADA architectures using Ignition Perspective.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement SCADA solutions for mission critical and industrial automation projects
  • Configure and develop Ignition applications, including Perspective, Vision, and associated modules
  • Develop SCADA architectures, HMIs, alarming strategies, historian implementations, and reporting solutions
  • Integrate PLCs, RTUs, power monitoring systems, and third-party devices into SCADA environments
  • Support the full project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, programming, testing, commissioning, and startup
  • Lead technical discussions with customers and provide engineering guidance throughout project execution
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, functional design specifications, and test procedures
  • Troubleshoot complex automation and SCADA issues both remotely and onsite
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical best practices within the organization
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project managers, and customer stakeholders
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  • 7+ years of SCADA engineering experience within a systems integrator, engineering services, or industrial automation environment
  • Strong hands-on experience with Ignition, particularly Perspective
  • Experience designing and deploying enterprise-level SCADA systems
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA, Modbus TCP/IP, DNP3, MQTT, BACnet, and Ethernet/IP
  • Experience integrating PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric, or similar
  • Familiarity with SQL databases, historians, reporting tools, and network architecture
  • Strong troubleshooting, customer-facing, and communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50%
Preferred Experience
  • Data center, power generation, power distribution, critical infrastructure, or mission critical facility experience
  • Experience with MQTT and Sparkplug architectures
  • Exposure to virtualization platforms, cybersecurity standards, and industrial networking
  • Ignition Gold Certification or equivalent certifications
