Job summary

First Merchants Bank is seeking an SBL Closing Specialist III to join our team and manage all aspects of the closing process from approval through funding. You will coach and develop staff, order appraisals and title work, and ensure SBA compliance across files.

The role requires strong Microsoft Office skills, LaserPro experience, and excellent communication. You will handle multiple loan submissions in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or relevant field.
• 7+ years of related experience.
• Demonstrated management, leadership and coaching skills.
• LaserPro experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Outlook, Excel.
• Strong Critical thinking, problem solving, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple loan submissions/tasks in various stages simultaneously

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the SBA closing process from approval through funding.
• Coach, mentor and develop staff; lead trainer as needed.
• Order appraisals, environmental reports, and title work.
• Review closing documents and ensure SBA compliance.
• Maintain accurate files and timelines for loan closings.
• Communicate with customers and third parties to gather required information.
