Job summary

Xona is seeking an experienced Production Leader to run the Satellite Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) operations at the Burlingame, CA facility, ensuring safe, on-time manufacturing of the company’s satellites.

You will coach and develop a production team, manage production planning, KPI tracking, and cross-functional partners in Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Program Management and Engineering to scale production.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a supervisor or manager role in a scaled, production facility with complex products.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management or related field.
• Experience in Space or A&D manufacturing is desirable; multi-discipline assembly/testing experience is ideal.
• Lean manufacturing and TPM fundamentals with knowledge of six sigma preferred.
• Comfort in evolving plans and processes in response to customer/market forces.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MES/QA digital systems and a digital factory integration.
• Understanding of QMS and building high-performing production teams.
• Ability to initiate new processes/tools and ensure adoption and continuous improvement.
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills; ability to mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Lead the production team for safe, high-quality, on-time, scaled satellite production at Burlingame.
• Oversee production planning, shift staffing, handovers, KPI tracking and facility efficiency.
• Coach and develop a high-performing production team with strong safety and accountability.
• Collaborate across Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, QA, Program Management, and Engineering.
• Drive ramp-up targets, optimize workforce and equipment utilization, reduce WIP and improve build quality.
• Manage equipment maintenance and facilities functions.
• Contribute to production budgeting, including capital expenditure, logistics, tooling and staffing roadmaps.
