Job summary
Amazon Leo in Redmond, WA seeks a Senior Electrical Systems Engineer to own requirements, trade studies, and simulations for the satellite power system. You will build electrical models of solar arrays, batteries, power conversion, and power distribution, and assess performance across operating conditions and orbital scenarios.
You will lead cross-functional requirements, translate constraints into specs, and help optimize system architecture while collaborating with hardware and software teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science required.
- 5+ years in electrical power systems or power electronics engineering.
- 5+ years in simulation, modeling, and requirements definition for electric power systems.
- Experience with MATLAB or Python to extract, process and store data from large datasets.
Responsibilities
- Own requirements, trade studies and simulation analysis for the satellite power system.
- Build electrical models of the satellite power system and assess solar array power over operating conditions and orbital parameters.
- Lead simulations to analyze vehicle power demand across different power modes and orbital scenarios.
- Influence system architecture and sizing of solar arrays, batteries, power electronics and distribution blocks.
