Job summary

E-Space, based in Saratoga, CA, seeks a Staff Satellite FPGA Engineer to drive FPGA RTL development for space-grade satellites. You will craft architecture, interfaces and RTL for Microsemi FPGAs, conduct thorough verification, timing analysis and hardware testing, and lead design reviews across HW/SW teams.

The role requires 10+ years in FPGA RTL, strong SystemVerilog or VHDL skills, scripting, and knowledge of AXI and bus protocols.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in FPGA RTL architecture, development, verification, deployment and maintenance.
• Proficiency in SystemVerilog or VHDL.
• Proficiency with at least one scripting language (Python, TCL, shell, etc).
• Experience with verification techniques and timing analysis.
• Ability to read and understand PCB designs and schematics.
• Understanding of embedded software.
• Knowledge of AXI protocols and common bus interfaces (I2C, SPI).
• Demonstrated success working in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Own FPGA RTL development from initial design to flight.
• Define FPGA architecture and interfaces with HW/SW teams.
• Develop RTL code for Microsemi FPGAs and other SoCs in SystemVerilog or VHDL.
• Perform verification including simulations, test benches, timing analysis and hardware testing.
• Lead design reviews and maintain requirement traceability with documentation.
• Develop and participate in unit and system level test campaigns.
