Job summary

Vast, located in Long Beach, CA, is hiring the founding Assembly, Integration & Test Engineer for satellites. You will own the integration flow, test philosophy, environmental test capabilities, and ground support equipment, collaborating with structures, avionics, thermal, power, GNC, and flight software leads.

You will lead campaigns from development units to production, defining requirements and verification plans, while feeding learnings back into design to improve throughput for multiple

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing or related technical discipline.
• 8+ years in test engineering or hardware integration roles.
• Hands-on with spacecraft or complex flight hardware integration.
• Experience with environmental testing (thermal vacuum, vibration).
• Proficiency in C/C++ or Python for test automation or data reduction.

Responsibilities

• Lead integration and test campaigns from component to full vehicle.
• Define test philosophy for bus and production ramp.
• Develop test plans and drive through execution and closure.
• Define requirements with systems/subsystems leads and verification plans.
• Develop and operate environmental test systems (vibration, TVAC, thermal cycling).
• Design and maintain MGSE/EGSE and supporting facilities.
• Interface with ground test software and perform hardware-in-the-loop tests.
• Own test data review and interpretation, determine pass criteria.
