Job summary

KBR’s National Security Solutions team seeks a SATCOM Systems Engineer to lead the architecture, analysis, integration, and oversight of advanced satellite communications. Expect work across RF, IF, baseband and networking layers with emphasis on modem architectures and DoD programs.

Responsibilities include evaluating modulation, coding, multiple access, and link budgets, plus SoC/FPGA modem support and system requirement translation. Competitive compensation awaits in the US.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics or related field.
• 5+ years in communications system development and related areas.
• Experience supporting modem, waveform, or RF subsystem design or integration.
• Active DoD SECRET clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and define modem and RF subsystem architectures for SATCOM systems.
• Evaluate modulation and coding schemes under operational link conditions.
• Assess and support implementation of multiple access techniques.
• Develop and review link budgets and spectral efficiency analyses.
• Support SoC/FPGA-based modem implementations and hardware/software partitioning.
• Define system and interface requirements across RF, IF, baseband, and Layer 2.
• Support integration and test of modem subsystems in lab and field environments.
