Job summary

SRC, Inc. seeks a Senior Algorithm Engineer to lead radar, RF, and multi-sensor processing algorithm development for ISR, EW, and advanced sensing missions.

The role demands deep theory, data-driven validation, and leadership of an engineering team in a challenging defense-oriented environment. The candidate will guide prototype-to-embedded transitions, craft performance metrics, and contribute to proposals and customer engagements while advancing detection, estimation, and learning-augmented

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline with 4+ years of experience; or a Master’s with 2+ years.
• Strong command of detection and estimation theory, stochastic processes, linear algebra, and statistical signal processing.
• Demonstrated experience developing radar/RF sensor processing algorithms and validating them with real data.
• Proficiency in MATLAB and Python (NumPy, SciPy) for algorithm development and analysis.
• Experience with modeling and simulation, including Monte Carlo methods and performance prediction.
• Ability to derive approaches from first principles and to know when to apply existing methods.
• Experience mentoring less experienced technical staff and strong technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Support and may lead development, analysis, and validation of radar and sensor processing algorithms from formulation to implementation.
• Identify problems in processing chains and define approaches to address them.
• Develop advanced processing techniques such as adaptive beamforming and clutter suppression.
• Analyze recorded data to characterize phenomenology and performance vs theory.
• Build high-fidelity modeling/simulation for algorithm development and trade studies.
• Define metrics and test methodologies; provide defensible analysis of performance.
• Support transition of algorithms to real-time and embedded implementations with hardware teams.
• Evaluate where learned methods add value over model-based processing.
• Guide less experienced engineers and contribute to proposals and customer findings.
• Communicate tradeoffs clearly to leadership and in white papers.
