Job summary

Leidos has an exciting opportunity for an Expert Level Imagery Scientist (SAR) to join our team in Alexandria, VA. The Imagery Scientist will provide geospatial and imagery expertise to support Machine Learning algorithm testing and evaluation.

The role requires deep SAR knowledge, experience with SARPY/MATLAB SAR tools, and the ability to develop and evaluate new algorithms while communicating complex results to both technical and non-technical audiences. Active TS/SCI is preferred.

Qualifications

• 6+ years as a SAR expert with understanding of collection, phenomenology, and exploitation products.
• Bachelor's Degree in related field; additional years may substitute for degree.
• Experience with SARPY and MATLAB SAR toolbox.
• Familiar with SAR metrics and sensor metadata affecting geometry.
• Experience developing and evaluating SAR algorithms with Python/MATLAB.

Responsibilities

• Assess differences between new SAR sensor characteristics and existing platforms.
• Evaluate metadata, data formats, and ETL processes for data ingestion pipelines.
• Determine data acquisition methods, latency, formats, and security domains.
• Pre-process and standardize data for labeling and model testing.
• Identify data gaps and curate imagery for ML model evaluation.
• Leverage multi-INT data with emphasis on SAR for curated labeled imagery.
