Job summary

EY in the United States is seeking an SAP IS-U Billing Senior Consultant to design, configure, test, and implement SAP IS-U Billing and Invoicing solutions for utilities. You will translate billing requirements into practical functional designs and work with stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely customer bills across the meter-to-cash lifecycle.

The role requires 3–4 years of SAP IS-U experience, hands-on configuration of billing schemas, rates, invoicing, and FI-CA, plus travel 40–60%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Typically 3–4 years of SAP IS-U or SAP Utilities experience, including at least 3 years with SAP IS-U Billing and Invoicing.
• Hands-on experience delivering functional requirements, configuration or solution design in a utility environment.
• Experience configuring SAP IS-U billing schemas, rates, facts, operands, billing master data, invoicing, and billing-cycle processes.
• Experience supporting periodic and non-periodic billing, rebilling, reversals, adjustments, and bill simulation.
• Understanding of meter-to-cash processes and dependencies across Billing, Device Management, Energy Data Management, FI-CA, Customer Service, and connected systems.

Responsibilities

• Gather requirements for billing and invoicing across electric, gas, and water utilities.
• Configure billing schemas, master data, and invoicing for SAP IS-U Billing.
• Support periodic and non-periodic billing, estimates, rebilling, and adjustments.
• Validate invoicing, billing documents, and downstream postings with FI-CA.
• Analyze billing exceptions and root causes across data and system integrations.
• Prepare functional designs, configuration documentation, test scenarios, and process flows.
• Lead testing activities and support user acceptance and production readiness.
• Coordinate cross-workstream impacts with multiple teams.
