Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a hands-on SAP Basis Administrator to own the technical health and evolution of their SAP landscape across Windows and Linux environments and databases including SAP HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, and Sybase.

The role will lead architecture, build, testing, deployment, upgrades, and ongoing support, while planning maintenance and disaster recovery. The candidate should drive troubleshooting and performance initiatives and may pursue a future security clearance.

Job description

A publicly traded, Virginia-based software company is looking for a hands-on SAP Basis Administrator to own the technical health and evolution of their SAP landscape. Ideal candidates will be able to lead architecture, build, testing, deployment, upgrades, and ongoing support across Windows and Linux environments and HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, and Sybase databases. This person will also advise on how connected systems and third-party dependencies integrate with SAP, plan maintenance schedules, take part in disaster recovery planning and testing, and drive troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance initiatives. Ideal candidates will also be able to obtain a future security clearance.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of experience


• Deep, hands-on SAP Basis experience and strong knowledge of SAP best practices


• Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, and GCP, plus an understanding of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS requirements


• Experience with highly technical teams and the ability to resolve complex issues independently


• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills


• Future ability to obtain a Security Clearance
