Sharp Decisions is seeking a senior SAP BASIS architect to lead architecture analysis, design, build, test, and deployment of SAP systems in a remote, long-term contract. You will advise on SAP integration approaches, manage third-party dependencies, and design SAP landscapes for both operational and project settings.

You will plan maintenance, participate in disaster recovery testing, and provide hands-on BASIS administration while guiding performance initiatives.

• 12+ years of professional experience in IT.

Job Description and Responsibilities

• Manage technical architecture analysis, design, build, test, and deployment for SAP systems.
• Advise on technical approaches for all systems integrating with SAP and manage third-party dependencies related to the SAP environment.
• Design and manage SAP system landscapes in both operations and project scenarios.
• Plan and manage SAP systems maintenance schedules.
• Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and testing.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of SAP best practices for backup and recovery.
• Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Implement, upgrade, and support the latest SAP system versions running on Windows/Linux operating systems and HANA, Sybase, Oracle, and SQL Server databases.
• Provide hands-on SAP BASIS administration.
• Provide leadership for troubleshooting and system performance initiatives.
• Demonstrate good knowledge of AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Communicate project status, issues, and risks in a timely manner to stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and managers.
• Help manage Change Control, Issues, and Risks to ensure timely implementation of projects, including conducting risk assessments, identifying project roadblocks, and driving mitigations and solutions.
• Work with technical and non-technical teams, including Customer Support, Professional Services, Product Management, Engineering, and QA teams, to efficiently and effectively resolve project issues and escalations.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of standards, processes, and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree plus 12+ years of professional experience.
• Strong SAP BASIS experience and understanding of SAP best practices.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• High standard for work ethic and quality.
• Experience working with highly technical teams.
• Clear understanding of business process requirements and cloud technical requirements for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS technologies.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Ability to manage and shift priorities quickly and effectively when needed.
• Ability to work independently and resolve complex technical issues.
• Self-motivated and able to work under pressure while delivering high-quality results.
