Job summary

Sysco, a global leader in foodservice distribution, seeks an experienced SAP ABAP specialist to deliver complex solutions and lead technical efforts for the application development team. You will translate business requirements, design systems, and mentor others in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in CS or IS, 5–7+ years SAP ABAP experience, and strong knowledge of EDI and SAP PI/PO. Hybrid onsite work 3 days/week, 2 days remote, U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant work experience.
• Advanced degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
• 5–7+ years of experience in SAP ABAP development.
• Understanding of EDI standards and data mapping.
• Familiarity with SAP concepts, PI/PO functionality, and architecture.
• Ability to create technical specifications from functional requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into technical SAP ABAP solutions.
• Design and develop technical solutions that align with standards and needs.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes.
• Document solutions to build the knowledge base.
• Evaluate current system capabilities and propose changes with business impact.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to agree on technical solutions before implementation.
• Ensure accurate technical documentation and update it as changes occur.
• Test changes and support testing activities across different scopes.
• Monitor and optimize ABAP programs using relevant tools.
• Design overall system architecture and develop prototypes for major components.
• Follow defined methods, standards, and policies for development and operations.
