Job summary

Texas Department of State Health Services in Marshall, TX, seeks a Sanitarian III to lead advanced training and standards for the Manufactured and Retail Food Unit. You will develop training materials, present to staff and stakeholders, and support field inspections across the state.

Role requires senior-level expertise, ability to work with minimal supervision, and occasional travel. The position is full-time with day shift and telework not eligible.

Qualifications

• Must be registered as a professional sanitarian by the State of Texas.
• At least three (3) years of combined experience conducting manufactured foods, retail foods, youth camp, or public sanitation inspection.
• Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license or equivalent license.

Responsibilities

• Maintains electronic records and statewide database of standardized training.
• Develops curriculum, course outlines, instructional methods, manuals, and training materials.
• Delivers in-person and remote training to staff and stakeholders.
• Assists the manager in ensuring standards and planning goals for the Branch; supports training needs.
• Occasionally participates in disaster response and Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation.
