Job Title: Senior Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Role Overview

The Senior Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer will join the IT Application Development team. This role involves designing, establishing, and operationalizing new Marketing Cloud Engagement capabilities, frameworks, and workflows from the ground up. The selected candidate will serve as the technical subject matter expert for all Salesforce Marketing Cloud initiatives within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy customer journeys within Salesforce Marketing Cloud using Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and Content Builder.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of Marketing Cloud solutions, including requirements review, solution build, testing, deployment, and post-launch monitoring.
• Develop personalized content using AMPscript, SSJS, HTML/CSS, and dynamic data extensions, and set up/configure data models.
• Manage Salesforce Marketing Cloud environments, including configuration, user roles, security, subscriber model, and data governance standards.
• Oversee preference centers, subscription management, and ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., CAN-SPAM, GDPR).
• Configure surveys through Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including setting up survey journeys, integrating survey tools (e.g., Salesforce Survey, FormAssembly, or external platforms), managing response capture, and activating follow-up or trigger-based actions.
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate marketing requirements into scalable technical solutions using Marketing Cloud.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for journeys, data integrations, and automation processes.
• Mentor junior Salesforce developers, promoting best practices in journey development and data connectivity.
• Stay current with Salesforce Marketing Cloud releases, features, and best practices to continuously improve solutions.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud development experience
• Proven ability to create and optimize customer journeys using Marketing Cloud (Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio, Mobile Studio)
• Strong proficiency in SQL, AMPscript, SSJS, HTML, CSS
• Proven experience working in production environments with high-volume campaigns
• Deep knowledge of APIs (REST & SOAP)
• Experience with Marketing Cloud integrations (e.g., Marketing Cloud Connect, Data Cloud)
• Solid understanding of data-driven marketing, personalization, and segmentation strategies
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Skills

• Solid understanding of the Marketing Cloud data model (Data Extensions, Send Logs, Data Views, Contact Builder)
• Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud (Data 360) for unified profiles, identity resolution, segmentation, and real-time activation
• Active Salesforce certifications (e.g., Marketing Cloud Developer, Marketing Cloud Consultant, Data Cloud Consultant)
• Experience with Salesforce CRM or other mar tech ecosystem tools
• Working knowledge of multi-cloud architecture and enterprise integrations
