Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on the Salesforce AI & Engineering team to design, develop, and maintain Salesforce and AI-powered solutions across Caterpillar's digital platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related technical field, or equivalent working experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience with strong OOP.
• 3+ years designing and developing Python software.
• Experience with Git at medium to large teams.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• CI/CD tooling experience (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Experience with AWS components (Lambda, EventBridge, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, Dynamo, S3, IAM, RDS).
• Hands-on experience with GenAI developer tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude code).
• Experience designing or integrating Generative AI solutions using LLMs, RAG, vector databases.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, test, and maintain Salesforce and AI-powered solutions.
• Lead adoption and integration of Salesforce AI technologies (Agentforce, Einstein AI, Generative AI).
• Develop integrations across Salesforce platforms (Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud).
• Build enterprise-grade apps and integrations using Apex, LWC, Visualforce, JavaScript, SOQL/SOSL, Salesforce APIs.
• Create declarative solutions with OmniStudio, Flows, validation rules, and automation.
• Develop integrations with REST, SOAP, and middleware; enable event-driven architectures.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve productivity, quality, and speed.
• Implement AI capabilities across Salesforce ecosystem (agents, intelligent assistants, predictive insights).
• Prototype and adopt emerging AI technologies for better outcomes.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship in Salesforce architecture and AI practices.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver AI-driven solutions.
