A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Senior Sales Territory Manager, you will support the development of new accounts as well as expanding existing accounts. You will identify business opportunities, meet customer needs, promote the brand, product offerings and capabilities for our Ophir Instruments product line consisting of beam profilers and power meters. The Sales Territory Manager will develop and maintain relationships with customers and accounts in the Eastern United States and/or named accounts.
You Will Make an Impact By:
- Maintaining new and existing orders, which includes expediting orders, preparing quotes, proactively contacting customers and setting up new customers.
- Identifying new opportunities, applications, segments, and markets for products and capabilities. You will do this by having hands‑on expertise with our products and recognizing market and customer value propositions.
- Building solid relationships with customers at multiple levels in the organization and with internal functional groups
- Working as a team with other MKS Sales Territory Managers to grow total business
- Demonstrating products at customer sites
- Developing and executing strategies for territory and specific accounts and providing accurate orders forecast to Sales Management
- Performing onsite visits and attending relevant trade shows (up to 30% travel)
- Managing and maintaining orders pipeline and opportunities in Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
- Identifying, collecting, and disseminating sales best practices, customer requirements, and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement of business
Skills You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Photonics-related field (Physics, Engineering, Applied Science)
- Five (5) years of demonstrated success in a customer facing role
- Hands‑on experience and proficiency with test equipment and/or lasers
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals in previous assignments and a track record of compliance with sales policy and related regulations
- Ability to think critically, troubleshoot and solve problems with confidence
- Excellent attention to detail and time management, coupled with exceptional communication skills
- Skillful negotiating

Compensation and Benefits:
- Total Compensation: Salary Range: ($100,000 – 150,000) & Incentive Payment: ($30,000 – 60,000). This range is a good faith estimate of the expected total compensation for this position (base salary plus variable sales compensation), based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
- Incentive Payment: A percentage of your total compensation is tied to participation in a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) and is earned by your achievement of pre‑established targets, pursuant to the terms of the SIP.
