Job summary

CliftonLarsonAllen in California is seeking a Sales Tax Consulting Senior to join our State & Local Tax practice. You will research multistate sales and use tax issues, advise clients, and lead compliance engagements across multiple jurisdictions.

You will identify tax savings opportunities, manage engagements from scoping to delivery, and partner with CLA service lines to deliver integrated solutions. Mentorship of associates and interns is also expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of relevant experience required.
• CPA eligible preferred.
• Experience in business consulting or services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research and advise on multistate sales and use tax issues, including nexus, taxability, and exemptions to minimize client exposure.
• Lead and support compliance engagements - return preparation, voluntary disclosure agreements, and audit defense across multiple jurisdictions.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and communicate actionable insights to clients in clear, business-friendly language.
• Manage engagements from scoping through delivery, with increasing ownership of timelines, budgets, and client relationships.
• Partner across CLA service lines - income tax, property tax, credits & incentives - to deliver integrated solutions.
• Leverage technology and automation to drive efficiency, accuracy, and a best-in-class client experience.
• Grow your expertise through CLA's SALT training programs, hands-on client work, and exposure to complex multistate issues.
• Mentor associates and interns, helping build a high-performing, collaborative SALT team.
