Job summary

Virginia Guesthouse is seeking a Senior Sales Manager to join our opening team in Charlottesville. The role focuses on developing and executing strategies to maximize revenue, build relationships, and position the property as the premier destination for meetings, events, and accommodations.

You will work closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing, revenue management, and catering teams to align pricing, packages, and client satisfaction while mentoring junior staff and upholding brand

Responsibilities

• Actively prospect, solicit, and close new business across assigned market segments (corporate, group, university, social, and association).
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and community organizations.
• Achieve and exceed individual and team revenue goals for room nights, meetings, and events.
• Create and execute targeted sales strategies, including participation in tradeshows, client events, and networking opportunities.
• Collaborate with the Director of Sales & Marketing, revenue management, and catering/conference teams on pricing, packages, and client satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, including account activity, booking pace, and pipeline reports.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior sales team members, contributing to a culture of excellence and collaboration.
• Represent the Virginia Guesthouse with professionalism and integrity, ensuring brand standards are met at all times.
