Job summary

The Waterfront Beach Resort, a Hilton Hotel, seeks an experienced Group & Catering Sales professional to drive group room blocks and banquet business in assigned markets.

You will negotiate contracts, present proposals and manage relationships with clients and third-party agencies, including site visits, events and tradeshow participation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years of college-level courses with an emphasis on business.
• Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business Administration, Marketing or Communications preferred.
• Minimum four years’ experience in hotel sales.

Responsibilities

• Represent hotel by soliciting, responding to and negotiating with clients for group accommodations (over 100 rooms) and on-site catering.
• Initiate proposals/contracts for guest rooms, meeting space and banquet offerings with date, space and rate availability.
• Engage in outside sales activities, including client meetings, site visits and industry events.
• Attend weekly sales meetings and support operations with reviews and updates.
• Conduct site inspections to showcase rooms, space and hotel outlets.

Job description

WHAT YOU’LL DO- Represent hotel by soliciting, responding to and negotiating with persons requiring middle size to large and complex group accommodations (generally over 100 guest rooms with the potential for deployment adjustment) with or without meeting space and/or on-site (hotel) catering, based upon market segment and account files assigned by the Director of Group & Catering Sales. Represent hotel in significant interactions dealing with clients relative to sales and operational questions, concerns, and issues. Negotiate contracts with clients and commission agreements with third party agencies. Represent the hotel during business travel and industry events.- Initiate the preparation of proposals and/or contracts to advise prospective clients primarily of the hotel guest rooms, meeting space and/or banquet offerings including date, space and rate availability. Develop and pricing strategies to capture new business and retain existing, repeat business.- Engage in outside sales activities to discuss business opportunities and entertain clients in local and assigned markets (percentage of travel dependent on specific market). Direct site visits and familiarization tours for respective accounts.
