Job summary

The Waterfront Beach Resort, a Hilton Hotel, is seeking a security associate to patrol the interior and exterior and protect guests and property. You will respond to emergencies, control access, and assist with door lock issues while maintaining calm, professional communication with guests and colleagues.

Ideal candidates bring at least one year of hospitality or security experience, bilingual English/Spanish, a BSIS Guard Card, and strong written and verbal English, with solid Microsoft Office

Qualifications

• One year of hospitality and/or security experience.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is highly desired.
• BSIS Guard Card is required or preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work under pressure during busy periods.
• Professional phone etiquette, writing skills, and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Well organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-up.

Responsibilities

• Patrol interior and exterior areas to identify risks and direct actions.
• Maintain order, assist guests, resolve door lock problems, and respond to emergencies calmly.
• Answer security calls and respond promptly based on priority.
• Monitor life safety systems and report pertinent information from each shift.
• Observe monitors, report suspicious activity to supervisor, and relay alarms.
• Administer CPR and First Aid.

Job description

WHAT YOULL DO

- Foot patrol of the interior and exterior of the resort to observe and identify potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions. Evaluate situations and make logical decisions on how to proceed and direct work.

- Maintain order in the resort, dealing with the welfare of guests, assisting with door lock problems, coordinate expedient responses to emergency conditions such as fire, fire or safety hazards and threats to life and / or property in a calm, rational and persuasive manner. Handle undesired conduct, violations of resort policy and civil laws as warranted for the security and safety of resort guests, associates, patrons and property.

- Answer security telephone and respond in a timely manner based on priority.

- Memorize and monitor life safety system including accurate layout of entire building, locations of stand pipes, fire extinguishers, complete alarm reports and checks, and report any pertinent information from each shift.

- Observe monitors for any unusual activity and in the case of suspicious behavior report directly, via radio, to the supervisor on duty; report any alarms similarly.

- Administer CPR and First Aid.

WHAT YOU BRING

- One year of hospitality and/or Security experience.

- Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desired.

- B.S.I.S. Guard Card

- Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with guests and associates, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and to collect accurate information and to resolve problems.

- Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.

- Professional phone etiquette, writing skills, and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

- Well organized, detail-oriented, with excellent follow-up skills.
