Job summary

The Waterfront Beach Resort, a Hilton Hotel, is seeking a vigilant Security Officer to protect guests and property in Huntington Beach, CA. You will patrol interior and exterior areas, respond to incidents, and coordinate emergency actions with poise and clear communication.

Your duties include monitoring life-safety systems, handling access control, and providing CPR/First Aid as needed while maintaining guest comfort and safety during busy periods.

Qualifications

• One year of hospitality and/or security experience.
• Bilingual English/Spanish highly desired.
• BSIS Guard Card required or preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly with guests and staff.
• Ability to work under pressure and remain calm during incidents.
• Professional phone etiquette, writing skills, and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Foot patrol of interior and exterior areas to identify security risks and direct actions.
• Maintain order, assist guests, resolve policy violations and safety threats calmly.
• Answer security calls and respond based on priority.
• Monitor life safety systems and report pertinent information from each shift.
• Observe monitors and report suspicious activity or alarms to supervisor.
• Administer CPR and First Aid.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Foot patrol of the interior and exterior of the resort to observe and identify potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions. Evaluate situations and make logical decisions on how to proceed and direct work.
• Maintain order in the resort, dealing with the welfare of guests, assisting with door lock problems, coordinate expedient responses to emergency conditions such as fire, fire or safety hazards and threats to life and / or property in a calm, rational and persuasive manner. Handle undesired conduct, violations of resort policy and civil laws as warranted for the security and safety of resort guests, associates, patrons and property.
• Answer security telephone and respond in a timely manner based on priority.
• Memorize and monitor life safety system including accurate layout of entire building, locations of stand pipes, fire extinguishers, complete alarm reports and checks, and report any pertinent information from each shift.
• Observe monitors for any unusual activity and in the case of suspicious behavior report directly, via radio, to the supervisor on duty; report any alarms similarly.
• Administer CPR and First Aid.

WHAT YOU BRING

• One year of hospitality and/or Security experience.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desired.
• B.S.I.S. Guard Card
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with guests and associates, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and to collect accurate information and to resolve problems.
• Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
• Professional phone etiquette, writing skills, and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Well organized, detail-oriented, with excellent follow-up skills.
