Job description

Position Summary

The Senior Sales Engineer role is responsible for designing and managing smaller projects and serves as a technical resource for customer account development through engineering expertise, estimating, and other functions to perform design-build and other engineering-centric services. The candidate will work under the direction of Professional Engineers and will have the opportunity to work toward professional licensure. This role will directly support the engineering and project management needs for our Philadelphia Division.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a technical resource within the project, developing, proposing, designing, and project managing the assigned project from inception to closeout.
  • Proactively resolve issues, problems, and provide information and advice as needed.
  • Develop client relationships by providing project status updates to clients and management and participate in project meetings with internal departments.
  • Develop budget analysis reports, cost and revenue projections, change orders, and other reports as necessary for assigned projects.
  • Perform more complex calculations for a project, such as heating/cooling loads, equipment selection and sizing, friction loss calculations, etc.
  • Prepare preliminary redline design layouts for estimating.
  • Work with applicable internal and external stakeholders to ensure code compliance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Engineering
  • Proven effective project management and estimating experience
  • Solid MS Office Suite experience, including Excel
  • Intermediate to Advanced Revit and AutoCAD skills
  • Solid financial acumen, including project budgets and analysis and revenue projections
  • Practical understanding of mechanical system design, including load calculations, equipment selections, airflow, hydronics, steam systems, etc.
  • Ability to effectively interact with customers, field staff, and management
  • Solid project management skills
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent multi-tasking, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to write clear and concise proposals
