Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Engineering and Sciences (E&S) Baltimore and Partnered Sites (BaPs) division is seeking a Senior Staff Safety Systems Engineer to join our on-site team in Linthicum, MD. This role requires a current DoD Secret Clearance and SAP access, focusing on MIL-STD-882 safety programs across DoD programs.

The position emphasizes leadership in system safety, hazard analyses, and collaboration with customers and program milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 14 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields; 4 years may be substituted for a degree.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
• Experience MIL-STD-882E/ARP-4761/DO-178/254 and related standards.
• Experience with system safety hazard analyses (PHA, FHA, FTA, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement MIL STD 882 compliant system safety program.
• Conduct System Safety analyses to identify, communicate, and mitigate risks.
• Document and present system safety analysis results in formal deliverables.
• Communicate results with internal/external customers at milestone reviews.
• Provide technical leadership in System Safety Engineering on programs.
