Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Staff Safety Systems Engineer to support the B-2 program across multiple sites including Palmdale, CA, Rancho Bernardo, CA, Melbourne, FL or Oklahoma City, OK. The role develops and delivers System Safety products using MIL-STD-882 guidance.

The successful candidate will lead hazard analyses, document safety requirements, and mentor engineers while coordinating with IPTs and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM from an accredited university; 14+ years of engineering experience OR 12+ with MS OR 4+ with PhD.
• Experience with MIL-STD-882 or ARP4754 safety programs.
• Experience interfacing with military customers or safety counterparts.
• Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance (or higher) or in Continuous Evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Identify, classify, adjudicate, and manage hazards in a closed-loop tracking system.
• Coordinate with IPTs to support hazard and safety requirement adjudication.
• Communicate safety risk to appropriate levels and document SRR/ PDR/ CDR.
