Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is seeking a Safety Specialist III to manage regional occupational safety programs for Region 4, based in Burlington or Limon. You will develop tracking systems, perform inspections, and document hazards while supporting training and hazard control initiatives.

You will maintain knowledge of safety laws and collaborate with the Region Safety Committee to improve workplace safety and reduce risk. Travel within Northeastern Colorado is required.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of experience related to occupational health and safety or industrial hygiene.
• At least 1 year of this experience must have a primary focus in occupational safety.
• Education from an accredited college or university with coursework in occupational safety, safety science, industrial hygiene, or related field will be considered.

Responsabilités

• Identify and document workplace hazards; evaluate hazard-control measures and corrective actions.
• Conduct hazard analyses and document results for managers and employees.
• Perform safety inspections, audits, and evaluations; track safety training and advise on hazard controls.
