Role Summary

The Senior Safety Specialist will coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine and complex construction projects. Responsibilities include conducting safety inspections, identifying hazardous conditions, writing reports, and performing trend analysis, all in support of JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

• Coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine construction projects.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, identify hazards, document findings, and recommend abatement measures.
• Oversee safety orientations, monitor compliance with safety policies, and support safety meetings and committees.
• Assist in investigating accidents and coordinate with medical providers for injured employees.
• Monitor safety incentive programs.

Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

In addition, this role involves:

• Handling more complex safety issues and providing advanced safety guidance.
• Utilizing safety management systems for trend analysis and reporting.
• Providing safety training and guidance to team members.
• Managing safety aspects of larger or multiple projects.
• Assisting with safety audits and developing training strategies.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in MS Office and safety software.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and hazard recognition.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in safety or related field preferred; relevant experience considered.
• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience required.

Working Environment

• Valid driver’s license required.
