Magnum Electric is seeking an experienced Senior Safety Specialist to lead safety management for our projects in Ellendale, ND. The role emphasizes ownership of site-wide safety performance and proactive risk mitigation.

You will oversee regulatory compliance, lead inspections, investigations, training, and reporting, mentoring junior staff, and coordinating with regulatory agencies to ensure safe, efficient project execution across multiple sites.

Qualifications

Job description

Magnum Electric is seeking an experienced Senior Safety Specialist to take a lead, project-based safety role for our work in Ellendale, ND. The ideal individual brings several years of proven safety management experience in the construction sector and is ready to take ownership of site-wide safety performance.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations across all assigned projects
• Lead regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and direct corrective actions
• Serve as lead investigator for accidents, incidents, and near misses, determining root causes and developing prevention strategies
• Prepare and present detailed reports on safety performance, incident rates, trends, and recommendations to project and company leadership
• Deliver safety training sessions and mentor junior safety staff and site coordinators on best practices
• Serve as a key point of contact with regulatory agencies during inspections, audits, or claims
• Manage workers’ compensation claims and maintain accurate, audit-ready records of incidents, training, inspections, and corrective actions
• Review and help develop site-specific safety plans, job hazard analyses, and emergency action plans
• Stay current on industry best practices and emerging trends in safety management, sharing knowledge across project teams

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in occupational safety, preferably in construction
• Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and standards
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and presenting findings
• Analytical mindset with proven ability to conduct root cause analysis
• Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Proficient in using computer software applications related to safety management

Preferred Qualifications

• CSP, CHST, or other relevant safety certification
• Experience working on data center construction projects
• Background of construction, industrial, or electrical exposure
• Ability to relocate to other project sites as needed
