Job summary

O’Reilly Auto Parts is seeking a Manager of Safety Compliance to lead company-wide safety programs and regulatory adherence across OSHA, DOT, and EPA. The role partners with HR, Legal, Risk, and Distribution to reduce risk and promote a proactive safety culture, including fleet safety and driving eligibility.

You will oversee audits, investigations, and corrective actions, travel 10–20% of the time, and prepare leadership reports on safety performance and regulatory changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Risk Management, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of occupational safety, environmental, or regulatory compliance experience.
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations, general industry safety standards, and applicable NFPA codes and standards.
• Working knowledge of DOT and EPA regulations.
• Experience conducting audits, investigations, and inspections.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
• Ability to interpret regulatory changes and translate requirements into practical guidance and training for field safety team members.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and safety management software.
• Ability to travel as business needs require. 10-20%

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain company-wide safety compliance programs supporting OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
• Oversee driving eligibility, substance abuse programs, and fleet safety initiatives to support policy, regulatory compliance, and risk reduction.
• Monitor regulatory changes and communicate compliance requirements to leadership.
• Conduct compliance audits, safety assessments, and program reviews.
• Identify compliance deficiencies and oversee corrective action plans.
• Coordinate responses to OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other regulatory inspections, investigations, citations, and requests for information.
• Maintain corporate safety policies, procedures, standards, and guidance documents.
• Review incident investigations and verify corrective actions.
• Analyze injury, motor vehicle accident, audit, and compliance data to identify trends and improve safety.
• Support environmental compliance team activities including hazardous waste and spill reporting.
• Partner with field leadership to improve safety performance and strengthen compliance.
• Support company-wide safety and fleet safety initiatives.
• Serve as SME on occupational safety, regulatory compliance, driving eligibility, and fleet safety.
• Prepare reports and presentations for leadership.
• Travel to company locations for assessments, investigations, and training.
• Maintain current knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
