Job summary

ITC Holdings Corp in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks a safety professional to design and administer an effective safety program, promote a safe work environment, and ensure compliance with company practices and industry standards across all personnel and contractors.

You will conduct audits, lead meetings, and provide performance metrics while collaborating with EEI and safety agencies; travel and emergency coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field and 6+ years in safety or 10+ years in safety/construction management, including a combination of work experience, education and training
• Professional safety certifications (CIH, CSP, CHST, PSS, etc.)
• Experience in electric utility or large-scale construction environments preferred

Responsibilities

• Promotes a safe working environment by creating and maintaining the safety program.
• Monitors safety programs to assure compliance with company practices and industry standards.
• Assesses contractors for compliance with federal, state, and local safety standards.
• Conducts jobsite audits and Energy-Based Evaluations to measure contractor performance.
• Leads meetings with contractors and employees to review observations and trends.
• Provides safety performance metrics and conducts root-cause analyses.
