Job summary

Tri-City Group is seeking an experienced Jobsite Safety professional to lead safety programs for Cedar Rapids, IA. The role focuses on planning, implementing, and supervising safety, accident, and fire protection initiatives in line with corporate standards.

Responsibilities include developing employee safety orientations, conducting site inspections, investigations, and ensuring OSHA compliance. A drug screen and background check are required, and CHST certification is preferred for advancement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in occupational safety or health on large-scale construction projects.
• Experience on data centers and mission-critical sites preferred.
• Thorough understanding of federal, state, local, and company safety regulations.

Job description

Tri-City Group is currently seeking an experienced Jobsite Safety professional for Cedar Rapids, IA. The primary function is to plan, implement, and supervise project safety, accident, and fire protection programs in compliance with corporate safety program standards.

Essential Duties:

• Controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through safety management and supervisory personnel
• Assisting corporate programs by developing employee and craft safety orientation training programs and implementing them upon completion
• Conducting work area surveillance inspections, air sampling tests for confined space entry, property damage, and personal injury investigations
• Reviewing documentation to ensure all required records and reports are complete, accurate, and submitted per established procedures, and implementing corrective action as required
• Walk through to make sure PPE and OSHA guidelines are being maintained per state/federal regulations
• Tool talks, and other ongoing training/presenting, or teaching new safety protocols and procedures

Required Education and Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience/Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or Health or equivalent combinations of training and related experience.
• Previous experience working on large-scale construction projects, data centers, and mission-critical sites, Commercial or Industrial
• Construction and/or industrial safety experience and a thorough understanding of and the ability to enforce all federal, state, local, and company regulations
• Candidates must have the ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures, as well as good interpersonal and communication skills
• OSHA 30 Required
• Construction-related certifications such as CHST Certification, preferred.
