Job summary

The State Group is seeking a Safety Manager for a 24-month project in Hawesville, Kentucky, overseeing up to 1,200 tradecraft and office employees and supervising 3–5 safety coordinators. The role includes leading safety programs, audits, and investigations, and representing the company in project and subcontractor meetings.

You will balance field and office work, drive continuous improvement, ensure regulatory compliance (DOT, OSHA, NESC), and develop your team through coaching and performance

Qualifications

• 7+ years of safety experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory role.
• Bachelor's degree in safety or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, training, inspections, and auditing.
• Experience in construction or manufacturing industry.
• DOT, OSHA, NESC regulatory familiarity preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Promote a positive safety culture through leadership and actions.
• Review and update safety programs, conduct audits and investigations.
• Represent The State Group in meetings with project teams and subcontractors.
• Track incident metrics and drive continuous improvement.
• Manage workers' compensation cases with confidentiality.
• Communicate safety updates to employees and leadership.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Lead coaching and performance management of direct reports.
• Divide time between field and office.
• Collaborate with Operations to strengthen safety culture and client relations.
