Job summary

NOVA Engineering and Environmental in Kennesaw, Georgia is seeking a Safety Manager to lead the companywide safety program across offices, labs, and field sites. You will translate regulatory and client requirements into practical safety solutions, help employees recognize hazards, and manage risk while maintaining compliance.

You will develop and deliver training, conduct audits, investigate incidents, and support regulatory inspections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental health and safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Five+ years of progressive safety experience supporting field operations, construction, or environmental services.
• Experience developing safety programs, conducting audits, delivering training, and leading incident investigations.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements, hazard recognition, and risk assessment.
• Clear communication, sound judgment, and ability to influence at all levels.
• OSHA 30 Construction certification is required; OSHA 501 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve company safety programs, policies, goals, and performance measures.
• Assess work practices to ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, ANSI, or DOT regulations.
• Guide managers and employees on safety requirements and regulations.
• Conduct safety inspections and audits, track corrective actions, investigate incidents.
• Develop and deliver orientations, training, toolbox talks, and manager education.
• Maintain records, analyze safety trends, and provide recommendations to leadership.
• Coordinate inspections, client inquiries, contractor safety reviews, and workers’ comp activities.
• Visit project sites regularly to coach staff and halt unsafe work.
• Participate in NOVA’s Safety Committee and subcommittees.
