Job summary

Austin Commercial is seeking a Senior Safety Manager to lead the site safety program on an assigned project in Austin, Texas. You will educate staff on federal, state, and local safety laws and ensure compliance with the safety manual and company policies.

Responsibilities include training, reporting, and safety reviews; you will build relationships with project teams, subcontractors, and vendors while leading safety initiatives and investigations across the project.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a safety-related field preferred; 8–10 years safety experience in construction.
• Authorized OSHA 500 Trainer.
• CPR and First Aid certifications current.
• SWPP knowledge.
• Safety certification from an accredited organization (e.g., BCSP) or equivalent.
• Advanced knowledge of construction processes and procedures.
• Proficient in relevant software.
• Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities; effective crucial conversations.
• Manages time and resource allocation to provide safety leadership on projects.

Responsibilities

• Builds working relationships with project staff and subcontractor safety representatives.
• Ensures compliance with safety manual, policies and expectations; conducts safety reviews as needed.
• Creates accurate safety reports and accident investigation documents.
• Provides and leads safety training; possesses strong presentation skills.
• Represents company professionally with owner and subcontractors.
• Creates and facilitates safety training on subject matters aligned with project schedules.
• Builds and maintains relationships with key vendors and subcontractors.
• Participates in safety organizations outside of the company and in assigned region.
