Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a SPICE New and Advanced Plants Consulting Engineer to provide internal technical leadership and external industry influence in Safety I&C, with a focus on the Common-Q+ platform for new nuclear and advanced plant applications. The role reports to the Senior Director, Safety & Protection Systems, and is based in Warrendale, PA in a hybrid arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Computer, Software, or Nuclear) required.
• Master's degree in engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in engineering/tech with design, testing, operations, or business development in Instrumentation & Control.
• Minimum of 10 years in the nuclear industry with familiarity to US NRC codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Achieve recognition as a technical leader within the global nuclear industry and as technical expert in the Safety and Protection I&C area.
• Provide technical leadership of internal activities and task teams in multiple technical areas.
• Influence significant changes in the nuclear industry's technical direction.
• Provide broad technical consultation to department engineers and product managers.
• Lead, clarify, and resolve complex technical issues.
• Mentor less-experienced technical leaders and coach engineers in developing new skills.
