Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in Warrendale, PA is seeking a Principal Quality Engineer to provide technical leadership and independent QA oversight for I&C products and software in the nuclear industry. This role reports to the ICS Quality Assurance Manager and is located at our Warrendale facility in a hybrid position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• 8+ years in a commercial nuclear or similarly regulated industry.
• Experience with audits, assessments, corrective action, supplier quality, or complex quality oversight.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Lead Auditor or ASQ certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA planning and oversight for I&C projects, products realization, and software lifecycle activities.
• Interpret and apply regulatory and industry standards (e.g., 10 CFR Part 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR Part 21, ASME NQA-1, ISO 19443).
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to develop project quality plans, procedures, and surveillance plans.
• Provide QA oversight of engineering, software lifecycle, procurement, manufacturing, inspection and testing activities.
• Lead or support audits, surveillances, self-assessments, supplier assessments and audit readiness.
• Lead QA involvement in corrective action and nonconformance processes and effectiveness reviews.
• Represent IC Quality Assurance during audits or reviews by customers, regulators, and third parties.
• Identify and communicate quality risks and drive resolution across functions.
• Analyze quality performance and experiences to identify trends and improvements.
• Mentor Quality Engineers and other personnel in QA requirements and problem solving.
